Sow seed in September for summer flowering as Nemisia fruticans is best treated as a biennial. It can also be propagated by means of cuttings taken in spring when regrowth commences.
If it is frost damaged prune the damage away and the plant should resprout from its tap root

We bought a couple of fruit trees last Autumn – one a Greengage and a Guinevere Plum tree. The plum tree has produced around 30 plums in this it’s first year, but the fruits have maggots in them. Can you advise us as to what to do to prevent it happening next year please. The Greengage only had two fruits and they were delicious!
Sounds like plum sawfly
Next year spray your Plum Trees about a week after petal fall with a contact insecticide
This year collect and destroy any infected plums .
I have a small bottle of Derris Plus liquid concentrate which I have been using to control caterpillars on my brassica plants , but I am not sure if it has any further use due to it being several; years old – what is the shelf life of this product and also how quickly should the diluted spray be used ? — many thanks Rob .

Sow in October and they will be OK over winter or sow in Feb – if you have enough seed sow half and half

Hi,
Many (many now), as a boy I worked in ‘her lady’s’ greenhouse potting Carnation shoots into pots. These grew into the most fantastic, wonderful large and colourful plants.
Since then I have remembered the joy they gave to me. I now have the time to try the same but can someone tell me the type of plant I need to take the cuttings from?
Many thanks
Alan
how do you get seeds from a bizzie lizzie?
I have never succeeded – seeds are incredibly fine.
You could try to stop all but the early flowers so they set seed . Pollinate by hand with a cotton bud.
take some cuttings in case you do not set seed
I’m looking for advice on how to repair severe damage to our PHORIUM TENAX following heavy snow and -15 degree frosts here in Yorkshire in Nov. & Dec.
Most of the spikes have been flattened.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
All I can recommend at the moment is patience – see what the Phormium looks like in May, there is time for more snow and frost particularly in Yorkshire.
My busy lizzies have gone leggy, can they be cut back to make them grow more and become bushy if so how far back should they be cut.
I would only trim. Try repotting into a slightly larger pot with more food available. If you prune make sure they have good light to encourage new growth.
