Runner Beans offer a great combination of delicate flowers and tasty runner beans

Runner Bean

Unfortunately, there is a conflict between aesthetics and practicality. This netting is highly effective in keeping out pests like pigeons and rabbits but, is not so easy on the eye. On the other hand, it keeps the leaves in great shape.

Don’t feel the vegetable garden has to be separated from main garden. Work to integrate vegetables into the main garden. This runner bean fits easily into the scheme of an herbaceous border.

  1. Wow! What a beautifully organised garden. I wish mine looked half as tidy. I loved the photos too – I always want to cut the flowers from beans to add to foliage in the house – have to remind myself that would not be sensible! Only problem for me would be not wanting to use any of the veg because it would spoil that arrangement!
