Gardening Society as a Christmas Presents
There are all sorts of presents you can give an avid gardener for Christmas. A concept present may be a small collection of garden ornaments or funny sayings. More seriously garden tokens are always useful.
Another present could be a subscription to the Royal Horticultural Society or a specialist plant or society or charity such as one of the following (other clubs are available):
- The Alpine Garden Society (UK) – Alpine plants & gardens.
- British Cactus & Succulent Society – Cultivation of cacti and succulents.
- British Clematis Society – Growing and preservation of clematis.
- British Fuchsia Society – Furthering interest in cultivation of the Fuchsia.
- British Pteridological Society – Over 100 years the society focused on all things Fern
- Garden Society – Old fashioned flowers grown in the traditional cottage garden style.
- Cyclamen Society – Encourages cultivation, knowledge and conservation of the cyclamen
- Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society – A charity helping disabled or retired gardeners
- Hardy Plant Society – Enjoy a wide range of activities for the enthusiastic hardy planter.
- Heather Society – Founded in 1963, to promote and encourage interest in heathers.
- Hebe Society – Growing hebes and other New Zealand native plants.
- National Auricula & Primula Society – Promoting interest in all the cultivated forms.
- National Dahlia Society – Comprehensive activities, UK shows, local societies, results, how to grow, where to buy, history of the dahlia etc.
- National Sweet Pea Society – Promotes Sweet Peas and other Lathyrus species. Regular publications to members.
- North of England Horticultural Society – Supporting Harrogate flower shows
- Ranunculaeae Society – Promoting the many different genera, species and cultivars belonging to the buttercup family.
- RHS Lily Group – One of several specialist Plant Societies of the RHS
- Scottish National Sweet Pea, Rose & Carnation Society – What it says in the name
- Scottish Rock Society – Promoting the cultivation of alpine and rock garden plants.
- The Gardeners Guild – The Gardeners Guild organisation representing professional domestic maintenance gardeners. The Institute of Horticulture – Representing those engaged in horticulture.
- The Lavenders – Web site of one of the National Collections of Lavandula in the UK.
- The National Begonia Society – Formed in 1948, the society caters for all begonia growers.
- The Royal Forestry Society – Furthering the appreciation, understanding and knowledge of trees, woods and forests.
- The Royal National Rose Society – Founded in 1876, the RNRS is the world’s leading specialist plant Society.
- Woodland Trust – UK’s leading conservation charity dedicated to the protection of our native woodland heritage.
