We though it worth sharing a list of plants which are dangerous if eaten. In addition avoiding consuming these plants many common problems arise from contact with the sap.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aconitum &#8211; Monkshood<\/li>\n<li>Arum &#8211; Cuckoo pint.<\/li>\n<li>Colchicum &#8211; The autumn crocus<\/li>\n<li>Convallaria &#8211; Lily of the Valley<\/li>\n<li>Cytisus &#8211; the Broom &#8211; All parts can be fatal if eaten.<\/li>\n<li>Daphne &#8211; Shrub grown for its beautifully scented flowers. Berries very dangerous<\/li>\n<li>Delphinium &#8211; All parts Highly toxic &#8211; can be fatal if eaten<\/li>\n<li>Digitalis &#8211; Foxgloves cause irregular heart beat and digestive problems. Digitalis is used in heart medicines but is poisonous eaten straight from plant<\/li>\n<li>Gloriosa superba<\/li>\n<li>Laburnum &#8211; Beautiful flowers that flower in May but can be fatal if eaten<\/li>\n<li>Lantana &#8211; (Spanish Flag)<\/li>\n<li>Nerium &#8211; A beautiful conservatory plant<\/li>\n<li>Phytolacca &#8211; The poke weed<span style=\"font-family: Verdana; font-size: small;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Ricinus communis &#8211; Castor Oil Plant. Often fatal to horses and cattle and a number of dogs die by eating a small amount.<\/li>\n<li>Other Senicio plants and Castor beans can also be fatal to animals.<\/li>\n<li>Leaves and branches of Oleander produces digestive problems.<\/li>\n<li>Even the water that flowers have stood in can become poisonous to animals.<\/li>\n<li>Datura stramonium and Angels Trumpets are poisonous to humans and animals.<\/li>\n<li>Easter Lily is poisonous to cats and dogs should not be allowed to eat cocoa shells.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is your poison?
