The main flowering period tends to be late April and early May. This unnamed plant was in full bloom in Durham botanic garden on 1st March 2009.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"frosted rhododendron by brianpettinger, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/hortoris\/4606479625\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.staticflickr.com\/1255\/4606479625_e0853cf503.jpg\" alt=\"frosted rhododendron\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&#8216;More frost damage on an Early Rhododendron&#8217;<\/p>\n<h3>Tips to Avoid Frost Damage<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There is no cure after frosting has occurred but waiting for next year.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid planting in a frost pocket.
