Little wonder then that these <strong>Protea<\/strong> grow successfully on the island.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/hortoris\/5592031984\/\" title=\"Protea by brianpettinger, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5224\/5592031984_4c66d94d7d.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"Protea\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Madeira is famed for it&#8217;s horticultural gardens and is a grand place for gardeners to visit to see the exotic species in the well maintained professional gardens. These pictures were taken at Blandys owned Gardens of Quinta do Palheiro Ferreiro. However there is a whole family of the genus grown in Australasia.
