Trailing behind traditional Pansy varieties I have not repeated my experiment with Pansy sweet pea varieties, nor have I tried sweet peas that grow as low as pansies.<br \/>\nDescribed below are the Pansy purchases I made in 2012. It included a new pansy that was designed to climb or  be treated like a sweet pea.<br \/>\nThey arrived in good fettle and got off to a good start in various locations.<br \/>\nThe first flush of flowers were OK but not stunning.<br \/>\nThe climbing habit was poor even when tied to appropriate pea  sticks.<br \/>\nThe wet spring and summer weather has seen off the rest of the pansies and all in all they were poor value.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/learnscope\/2566050909\/\" title=\"Pansies by robynejay, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3057\/2566050909_af710f9ee7.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" alt=\"Pansies\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jan 10th 2012<\/strong><br \/>\nJersey plants have just mailed me a copy of their glossy but clear catalogue of plants for 2012. I was pleased to see and order some jumbo plugs of <a href=\"https:\/\/gardenerstips.co.uk\/blog\/flowers\/senetti-cineraria-or-senicio\/?preview=true&#038;preview_id=10209&#038;preview_nonce=08fb3dff8a\">Senetti<\/a> a daisy like flower that did so well for me last year. Prices are similar to other suppliers but postage is free.<\/p>\n<p>I was suckered when it came to checkout into buying another 70 garden ready Pansy Sweet Pea a variety I have not come across before.<\/p>\n<h2>What are Pansy Sweet Pea<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>This pansy grows to 18&#8243; and has similar characteristics to sweet peas.<\/li>\n<li>The flowers are bicoloured and blotched in white, rose, pink, lilac, gold, red, and blue.<\/li>\n<li>They flower from April to October with ruffled petals.<\/li>\n<li>They are said to be &#8216;Ideal as cut flowers&#8217; my reason for buying them.<\/li>\n<li>I will support these pansies with short canes and plant about 6&#8243; apart.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have joined a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/groups\/1310700fin\/\">flickr group<\/a> &#8216;VIOLETTA AMORE MIO&#8217; that specialise in pansy and violet photographs and hope to get some good pictures of this variety to submit to the show.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/hortoris\/4281469568\/\" title=\"purple pansy by brianpettinger, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4051\/4281469568_238eb1a678.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" alt=\"purple pansy\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Credits<br \/>\nMozaic Pansies by robynejay CC BY-NC-SA 2.0<br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jerseyplantsdirect.com\/?source=afw&#038;utm_source=awin&#038;utm_medium=Affiliate&#038;utm_campaign=81944\">Jersey Plants Direct<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pansies that grow like Sweet peas &#8211; what next to tempt gardeners to try something new.
