Not surprising as a buttercup is a member of the Ranunculus family as is this Ranunculus calandrinioides.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gardenerstips.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harlow-carr-Feb-093.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gardenerstips.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harlow-mcarr-Feb-093.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Harlow cvarr ramnunculus\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gardenerstips.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harlow-mcarr-Feb-093.jpg 480w, https:\/\/gardenerstips.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/Harlow-mcarr-Feb-093-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>What is Ranunculus Calandrinioides<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>This perennial plant is happy grown in containers or an alpine house.<\/li>\n<li>Growing 8 inches tall and 6 inches wide.\t<\/li>\n<li>In suitable climates some of the 200+ species can be useful as ground cover outdoors.<\/li>\n<li>The roots are fleshy and thick and different species may be tubers or fiberous rooted.<\/li>\n<li>The lance shaped leaves are bluish-green and upto 3 inches in length. <\/li>\n<li>Flowers are cup shaped white or pink 2 inches wide. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/learnscope\/2923337995\/\" title=\"Ranunculus by robynejay, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3113\/2923337995_1612f299d1.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" alt=\"Ranunculus\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Growing Ranunculus Calandrinioides<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Ranunculus Calandrinioides need full sunlight to reach their full potential with good flowering.<\/li>\n<li>Moist soil that receives regular watering to a depth of 18 inch deep is favoured by most Ranunculus. <\/li>\n<li>Soil should not be allowed to dry out.<\/li>\n<li>Grown outdoors on the southern and western sides of buildings are favoured areas as they are usually are the sunniest. <\/li>\n<li>Ranunculus calandrinioides should be easy to grow under cold glass in good soil or compost.\t<\/li>\n<li>Winter growth may be lax due to low light levels that cause the plant to be drawn up.<\/li>\n<li>Kept bone dry until mid winter it will stand freezing conditions<\/li>\n<li>Watered in early autumn, after a summer rest it will grow well before Christmas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Germination guide <\/strong><br \/>\nVarious Ranunculus from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.awin1.com\/cread.php?awinmid=2283&amp;awinaffid=81944&amp;clickref=&amp;p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thompson-morgan.com\/plants1\/search.html?section=all&amp;search=ranunculus\"> Thompson &amp; Morgan<\/a><br \/>\n B&#038;T Seeds say Ranunculus calandrinioides seeds will usually germinate in 30-90 days, even under good conditions germination may be erratic.
