• Do not expect fast results, Magnolias are long lived plants  that are worth the wait for their magnificent blooms.

• Magnolias are shallow rooted and need an acid soil.
• Propagation is hard but try cuttings at several times during the year.
• You can also try layering but that will take 2-3 years to start rooting.

• If you are impatient you can buy a large evergreen specimen of Magnolia Grandiflora up to 100 feet tall from a specialist nursery.
• Grafting is common in the nursery trade for Magnolias.

• Despite the waxy flower magnolias are delicate and short-lived once removed from the plant. If you pick them young and handle them carefully, they will last up to seven days in an arrangement
