BBC Gardeners World Gift Subscription

There are many gardening magazines, and if we are honest they do start to sound a little familiar when you’ve been reading them for many months. I seem to remember seeing quite a few – Top 10 Ways to Beat the Weeds or How to Grow Sweet Peas e.t.c or What do do in May in the garden. But, even if some ideas get repeated, there’s always new seeds, new plants, new ideas – and let’s face it some ideas are nice to hear a second time anyway.

I like reading BBC Gardeners World (I sometimes even buy it, rather than just skim through it standing in WHSmith’s at lunch time.) But, a really good idea is to give a magazine subscription as a birthday present

A Magazine subscription makes a great birthday present for a keen gardeners because

  1. A magazine is something new – they can’t have it already. I mean what do you buy a gardener whose garden is already overfull with plants !?
  2. A magazine is one of those items which we enjoy reading, but sometimes feel it is not worth the money – hence reading through it at the magazine stands during our lunchtime. So a subscription entails a guilt free read.
  3. Often magazines give free gifts like seeds – these are sometimes more valuable than the magazine itself!
  4. In our internet age, even we bloggers have to admit there’s something nice about reading a magazine in print rather than online!

hmmm, well that’s an idea of what to get my Father for his birthday anyway!
